Cyberpunk 2077 Has Been Hiding An Edgerunners Easter Egg For Nearly 2 Years

and its anime spinoff may be a few years old but that hasn't stopped the fandom from unearthing even more heartbreaking Easter eggs that connect the video game to the series. While the world of Night City may have already been a popular piece of pop culture before CD Projekt Red adapted the tabletop RPG into a video game, the launch of Netflix's anime further increased interest in the franchise by simply being an excellent, heartbreaking story. Now, one particularly tragic scene has been discovered in, immortalizing the fate of Kiwi.

Posted to Reddit by user DecisionTechnical461, the player shared a screenshot of a blood-soaked dumpster, stating that they believe it to be the location where Kiwi was killed in .

The site can be found in Santo Domingo and unless fans are very well-versed in the lore of, it's easy to assume that it's just the uncleaned blood splatter of a random crime. Yetcomparing the surroundings to the scene where Kiwi is executed in the anime leaves little room to question the accuracy of the reference.

While she may not be as recognizable or beloved as Lucy and David, Kiwi is still an integral part of 's narrative, starting off as a secondary character before eventually evolving into an antagonist in her own right. Serving as Lucy's mentor, the initially aloof netrunner forms a close with her pupil before ultimately making some bad decisions that see them placed on opposite sides of a vicious conflict. She eventually meets her make after Faraday, a Night City Fixer with ties to Arasaka and Militech, assassinates her because of how much she knows about his plots to further his influence around the underworld.

The blood-stained dumpster may be the most recently discovered reference to Kiwi in but it's by no means the only nod to the character.
