Co-Op Shooter Game With 'Very Positive' Reviews Coming to Xbox on May 31

Hypercharge: Unboxed is finally coming to Xbox consoles on May 31. The shooter, set in a world of toy soldiers, has been slated to receive an Xbox console release after the viral Hypercharge craze from a couple of years ago, and it seems that time has finally come.

Hypercharge: Unboxed is an indie shooter inspired by films like Toy Story and Small Soldiers, as well as classic Saturday morning cartoons and similar games such as Army Men: Sarge's Heroes. Developer Digital Cybercherries offers gamers a wealth of content from up to four-player split-screen co-op to a single-player campaign mode for Hypercharge: Unboxed. Additionally, Hypercharge can be enjoyed in either first or third person. The developer has been adding to the game since its release in 2020 on the Nintendo Switch, but now the British studio looks to make the jump to new platforms.

Action figure shooter Hypercharge: Unboxed is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on May 31. Digital Cybercherries and Xbox announced the release date in a trailer featuring animation reminiscent of classic cartoons like G.I. Joe. Hypercharge will retail for $29.99 when it launches later this month, but those who wish to pre-order the title can enjoy a 10% discount. The acclaimed indie has garnered 'very positive' reviews on Steam and has been identified as a fun multiplayer title by reviewers on the Nintendo Switch.

In addition to its whimsical aesthetic, Hypercharge boasts several features, including 14 unique stages, more than 300 customization options, and plenty of PvP modes. Since its launch, Hypercharge has grown significantly and has even garnered praise from other developers around the industry.

Hypercharge is not slated to come to Game Pass at launch, but the service is receiving plenty of additional titles this month for subscribers to enjoy.
