Call of Duty: Warzone April Fools Update Adds LTM That’s a Callback to Advanced Warfare

Developers Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software have added a new limited-time game mode to Call of Duty: Warzone just in time for April Fools' Day. The new event, Totally Advanced Resurgence, is not only a hilarious new mode for Call of Duty: Warzone players to check out, but it also acts as a callback to one of Sledgehammer Games' previous works.

Call of Duty: Warzone burst onto the battle royale scene back in 2020, and it has become one of the genre's leading forces. Thanks to continued support from both Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, as well as Activision, Call of Duty: Warzone brings in millions of concurrent players, with each new season amassing immense amounts of hype from fans.

However, Call of Duty: Warzone's newest limited-time update is a fun callback to an old Call of Duty game. As reported by Dexerto, Warzone's new Totally Advanced Resurgence was added as part of an April Fools' celebration. This mode allows up to 72 players to drop into a medium-sized map. This mode may sound familiar to Call of Duty: Warzone's standard Resurgence mode players, but there's a twist. Players are granted the ability to super jump, slide, and run fast and are also given a Specialist bonus at the start of the match.

The result is a chaotic and hilarious game mode that sees players fly around the map at dizzying heights and speed. Fans are already pointing out the similarities between the new game mode and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, with some calling Totally Advanced Resurgence the next iteration of Sledgehammer Games' take on the franchise. A sequel to Advanced Warfare has long been rumored, with fans calling for an update on the series since the original was released in 2014. Despite the demand for an Advanced Warfare 2, a sequel has yet to happen and seems unlikely given how popular Activision's current crop of Call of Duty titles are.

Massive changes are nothing new for Call of Duty: Warzone, which is about to enter its third season. From minor balance
