Call of Duty: MW3 Players Want Long-Lost Gunfight Feature to Return

Fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are calling for the long-lost Gunfight Tournaments mode to make a return in the new game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 continues to experiment with various limited-time modes, and the return of Gunfight Tournaments would make some players extremely happy.

Gunfight Tournaments were first added in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), and made a return in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The mode took the standard Gunfight rules, in which two teams of two compete to eliminate the other in just 40 seconds, and put them into a tournament format. Here, 16 teams would sign up for a four-round bracket, including a Preliminary Round, a Quarter-Final Round, a Semi-Final Round, and a Final Round, fighting their way through to become the champion and earn some exclusive rewards. It gave each game an extra competitive twist, which was perfect for some sections of the community. However, it hasn't been seen since it was added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The return of Gunfight Tournaments was brought up by Redditor KombatKiller, which led to many others in the game's community reminiscing about their memories of the mode. It also led to others in the thread asking for similar features to come to Gunfight, such as the addition of all maps from the previous two Call of Duty: Modern Warfare titles.
