Bungie Reveals Two Major Fan Requested Features Coming Soon to Destiny 2

Bungie reveals that it is doubling the Glimmer cap for Destiny 2 players in a January 30 update, while also confirming that the ability to modify the appearance of existing characters is finally coming prior to The Final Shape. Player expression is a major component of Destiny 2, though it's not quite as robust as other RPG-style games. After creating a character, players really can only change the appearance of armor and weapons, with their character model typically hidden underneath. Still, Destiny 2 provides a ton of armor and weapon skins to customize for exotics, a transmog system for armor, as well as countless shaders which alter the colors of the gear it is applied to.

As a live service title, Bungie is continually adding and tweaking the overall experience, with player feedback continuing to be a major way in which the studio shapes the game. Player data largely shapes how weapons are buffed and nerf in seasonal updates, though elements that may not be working as well are also identified through feedback. In fact, just recently, Bungie removed the Togetherness modifier from the Coil activity after fans as many felt it made the activity more frustrating, requiring all players to stay close in order to heal. Following that, Bungie has revealed new plans to incorporate more fan feedback through the addition of two highly requested features.

Inside of the January 18 blog post, Bungie revealed that it is planning to allow players to modify how their Guardian looks. As one of the most requested features for Destiny 2 by fans, this change has been a long time coming for many, as once the character is created initially, there's no way to alter the chosen haristyle, color, or facial markings. The update is planned for some time prior to The Final Shape, but once it launches, players will be able to select Modify when hovering over the character from the select screen.
