Bloodborne Emulation Continues to Improve Steadily, Correctly Displaying Shadows, Particle Effects; Modder Working on Dynamic Shadows

Bloodborne emulation on PC via the shadPS4 emulator continues to improve steadily, now displaying shadows correctly, among other things.

As reported by BrutalSam in two recent videos and well-known modder Fromsoftserve, the latest improvements made to shadPS4 allow the emulator to display shadows and blood effects correctly. In addition, the game now runs almost accurately at 1080p, 30 frames per second, with proper SSAO, motion blur, and distant fogginess. Particle effects are also displayed, but they currently have a significant impact on performance.

As if all this weren't enough, Fromsoftserve is also working on adding dynamic shadows, which don't work correctly as of now, as an item drop looks way too bright currently. Still, there's a good chance the modder will be able to fix the issue, further improving the game on PC. The modder also shared two comparison screenshots highlighting how much better Bloodborne looks with proper shadows displaying.

There's little doubt that, without an official remaster, playing Bloodborne on PC will become the best way to enjoy the PlayStation 4 exclusive once all emulation issues have been solved. Fromsoftserve is also working on an upgraded texture pack, which will further improve the game's visual quality at high resolutions.

More information on the shadPS4 emulator, which is making the Bloodborne on PC dream a reality, can be found on its official website.
