Baldur's Gate 3 Update Reveals Improved Romance Scenes, New Endings & More

While 's upcoming Patch 7 is still a couple of months away, developer Larian Studios finally disclosed exactly what players can expect from the update and it's turning out to be much bigger than many anticipated. Following the news that the now legendary development studio would not create any DLCs or expansions for its game, many fans were concerned that Larian's post-launch support would underwhelm. Fortunately, that hasn't been the case as the studio continues to provide dedicated fans with new features and more content.

Posted to the game's official Steam page, Larian Studios provided extensive information on the content players can expect from Patch 7 and some of the new additions could be game-changing. Fans will likely immediately gravitate towards the overhauled romance scenes which have been improved with upgraded animations to make everything look and feel more natural. Several characters, including Astarion and Shadowheart, have had their «kissing scenes» tweaked to be less buggy, meaning players who really want to enjoy their in-game relationship can now do so without any immersion-breaking glitches.

Larian Studios revealed some statistics about Baldur’s Gate 3, and one romance option definitely deserves more love and attention from players.

While the improved romance scenes will likely be enough to satisfy a large portion of the player base, Patch 7 includes even more new features including a dynamic split-screen to make multiplayer a smoother experience for everyone and several new cutscenes that should offer more variety for evil playthroughs. Aside from all the dozens of minor fixes, Larian Studios also shared an encouraging update on the toolkit which is shaping up to be a powerful means of modding the game. Yet with all those improvements already confirmed, Larian still has more up its sleeve.
