Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 Now Live, Adds New Evil Ending Cinematics, Official Mod Support, and More

It’s been months in the making, but Larian has finally dropped Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch #7 this week.

The massive update totals 18,000 words in patch notes and includes 13 new cinematics for the various evil ending possibilities the game offers, official mod support and tools, and a number of improvements to Honour Mode that should offer players even more of a challenge.

The Honour Mode improvements add new Legendary Action moves for a number of the game’s bosses.

When it comes to mods, the initial offering of official mod tool support is now available in the form of the Baldur’s Gate 3 Toolkit. This set of tools allows players to mod BG3 with new weapons, classes, spells, dice skins, and much more. Larian plans to expand these tools over time in subsequent patches. Patch 7 also adds an in-game mod manager, a convenient way for players to download, install, and manage mods, all from within the game itself.

Looking ahead, Larian plans to work on a couple more patches for BG3, with photo mode and cross play as some of the additions the studio plans to add to the game. It’s not quite the end for BG3, but that time is coming, as Larian intends to shift its focus fully to its next project following the release of the next few patches.
