Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Turns All Companions Into Gnomes

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player has shared a mod that allows them to complete a playthrough of the game with all companions as gnomes. The Baldur’s Gate 3 modding scene is slowly growing, and it’s fascinating to see what the community is coming up with.

Having an active modding scene is extremely important for any game that wants to stand the test of time on PC. As a fantasy RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3 is a perfect candidate in this regard, as there’s almost endless potential for what is possible. Players might not have access to the official Baldur’s Gate 3 modding tools yet, but they’re doing their best to ensure the game has a ton of interesting mods to keep the game feeling fresh. While Larian is still yet to confirm exactly when these tools will be available, it will surely result in even more amazing mods in the future.

Redditor Ainell shared images from the Baldur’s Gate 3 mod, which they confirmed was Appearance Edit Enhanced. While the mod doesn’t specifically turn the main characters of Baldur’s Gate 3into gnomes, it gives players the tools to edit them in any way they please. Ainell has decided to do a full gnome playthrough, giving favorites such as Astarion, Shadowheart, and Lae’zel a considerably shorter appearance. In the context of the game, it doesn’t actually mean much, but it’s certainly an interesting way to freshen up a repeat playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Although Baldur’s Gate 3 already has plenty of races to choose from, it’s interesting how the game’s modding community has engaged with this particular element of the game. Recently, one Baldur’s Gate 3 modder added playable Yuan-Ti to the game, bringing a Dungeons and Dragons favorite into Larian’s RPG. As more time passes and with the release of the mod tools, gamers should keep an eye on what races the community adds to the game in the future.

Despite Larian confirming that it won’t be releasing DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3, mod tools are still coming for the game. It’s great to see the developer show this sort
