Ark: Survival Ascended Ragnarok Needs To Finally Make One Obelisk Change

As gears up for the release of, many are hoping for one major change to Obelisks in the DLC. First released as a player-made mod for, a reimagining of is the next DLC scheduled for. Per the roadmap, is due out in September 2024 — this month — but with freshly released after a two-month delay, is still probably a ways away.

Either way, it's the next DLC expected to be released for, barring any major surprises. While most DLC maps have been left intact during the transition (with the occasional new creatures and features), some players have called for to make a major change to how works as a whole.

Studio Wildcard is tempting players back to Ark: Survival Ascended with the announcement that the next update will add a complex new environment.

As addressed in a post by Reddit user kinghumptyyy, Obelisk camping hasremained a prevalent problem in . They shared a screenshot of a player-built base in-game that completely surrounds and isolates an Obelisk, making it functionally useless to anyone except the player who built the base.

Players are frustrated about this issue, as Obelisks are an important part of 's core gameplay loop. They're one of very few features common to every single official map. By nature, Obelisks are visible from almost anywhere on the map, so reaching them and defeating their bosses quickly becomes an aspiration for new players.
