AMD Witnesses Data Breach After Major Hack, Investigation Underway With The Help of Law Enforcement Agencies

AMD has been suspected of a major data breach following a hack by hacker group, IntelBroker, that occurred this month, reports Bloomberg.

AMD's Servers Possibly Breached By Hacking Group, Compromised Data Reportedly Includes Info On Existing, Next-Gen Products, Employee Info & More

It is reported that AMD is currently investigating a claim of breach within its data networks which may have compromised several confidential files which might potentially include product details, source codes, future product plans, and employee information such as User IDs, emails, etc. The whole list of data that may have been compromised has been listed by HackRead as the following:

Compromised employee information includes data such as:

Replying to Bloomberg, AMD states that they are currently investigating the data breach and have involved law enforcement agencies in the investigation to see the extent of the breach. Following is AMD's statement:

Back in June 2022, AMD encountered a similar hack from extortion group, RansomHouse, who claimed to have stolen 450 Gb worth of data. NVIDIA was also hacked by a similar group known as Lapsus$ back in 2022 and the details of several next-generation GPUs were leaked out such as Blackwell which was officially revealed by the firm this year at GTC 2024. Other leaked data that was part of the hack included DLSS & LHR source codes. The group was also involved in a leak around Rockstar's GTA 6 but was reportedly apprehended by law enforcement agencies though the group remains active.
