AMD Ryzen 9000X3D “Zen 5” CPUs To Feature Same 3D V-Cache As Ryzen 7000X3D: 9950X & 9900X With 128 MB, 9800X3D With 96 MB L3

AMD's Ryzen 9000X3D "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs are expected to feature the same amount of 3D V-Cache as the existing Ryzen 7000X3D chips.

AMD Ryzen 9000X3D "Zen 5" CPUs Retain The Same 3D V-Cache Amount As Ryzen 7000X3D Chips, Up To 128 MB L3 On Dual CCDs, 96 MB on Single CCD

In earlier reports, we have stated how AMD is expected to feature some cool features on its next-gen Ryzen 9000X3D "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs. We revealed that one of those features is going to be full overclocking support and now, our sources have informed us that the Zen 5 3D V-Cache chips will feature the same L3 amount as the existing Ryzen 7000X3D "Zen 4" chips.

The information is a bit early but based on what we have learned, the AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs are likely going to include three SKUs, similar to the existing lineup. The naming isn't finalized but we can expect it to include Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core, Ryzen 9 9900X 12-Core, and Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core CPUs.

Coming to the amount of 3D V-Cache, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D will feature a total of 128 MB of L3 cache with a single 3D V-Cache boosted Zen 5 CCD which would feature a 64 MB stack and 64 MB from the core itself. The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 12-Core will also feature a similar configuration but it will come with a lower overall cache amount due to its L2 being 12 MB and L1 being 768 KB versus the 16 MB L2 and 1 MB L1 on the 9950X.

Moving over to the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, this chip will feature a single 8-core Zen 5 CCD with a 64 MB 3D V-Cache stack for a total of 96 MB L3 amount. The chip also features 8 MB of L2 cache & 512 KB of L1 cache. Just like the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is going to be a phenomenal chip in regards to gaming performance and should feature impressive performance/$, especially compared to Intel's fastest 14th Gen solutions since Arrow Lake doesn't launch until October 2024.
