AMD Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs Listed Online: Ryzen 9 9950X Potentially Costs Around $600 US & 31st July Availability

AMD's next-gen Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs based on the Zen 5 core architecture have started being listed online ahead of their July launch.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPU Prices Hinted In Early Retail Listings, Around $600 US For Flagship Ryzen 9 9950X "Zen 5" Chip?

At Computex 2024, AMD unveiled its Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPU family based on the Zen 5 core architecture along with the respective X870E/X870 motherboards. These chips will feature the support on existing and upcoming AM5 motherboards but the lineup will offer some huge CPU performance enhancements over their predecessors with a 16% IPC uplift right out of the box.

During the launch, AMD introduced four Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs chips, the Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and the Ryzen 5 9600X. All four have the same core counts as their predecessors at 16, 12, 8, and 6. Now, retailers worldwide have started to list these chips in their online stores and while the prices are preliminary, they look similar to or lower than the Zen 4 parts.

Starting with the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, Canada Computers has listed the chip for CAD 839.00 which is lower than the CAD 939.00 MSRP of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X (the chip is currently listed for CAD 719.00 which converts to $522 US and we have seen it available under $500 US recently). The CAD 839.00 pricing converts to $610 US which is $90 US lower than the MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7950X which cost $699 US at launch and was replaced by the Ryzen 9 7950X3D at the same price but that chip is currently also available close to $500 US.
