AMD Ryzen 9000 CPU Prices Rumored To Be Same As Ryzen 7000

AMD's Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs are rumored to cost the same as the Ryzen 7000 SKUs, according to @wxnod.

AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" CPUs Rumored To Have The Same Prices As Ryzen 7000 "Zen 4" Chips

Yesterday, the first information regarding the AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" desktop CPUs, codenamed Granite Ridge, leaked out. Now, there's some new rumors regarding the prices and it looks like the next-gen lineup might retain the same price structure as the existing Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs.

The pricing for AMD Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs that matches the Ryzen 7000 series will be the MSRP and not the recent discounted prices which put the Ryzen 7000 series in a very competitive place against Intel's 14th Gen lineup.

This would mean that the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU should retail at $699 US while offering 16 cores, the Ryzen 9 9900X CPU should retail at $549 US while offering 12 cores, the Ryzen 7 9700X should retail at $399 US while offering 8 cores and the Ryzen 5 9600X should retail at $299 US while offering 6 cores. All of these chips should be compatible on current and upcoming AM5 platforms such as the 600-series and the 800-series.

With the Ryzen 7000 being highly competitive against 14th Gen CPUs from Intel and the Ryzen 9000 line coming in at the same MSRPs as the last-gen while offering significant performance uplifts in both single and multi-threading workloads, we can expect AMD to be in a very dominant position in the desktop DIY space with its future Zen 5 chips.

The pricing rumor sounds great for the upcoming AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktopo CPU lineup which is expected to debut at Computex 2024 in the next few days.
