A Sims 1 Re-Release Just Got A Whole Lot More Possible

The impact that franchise has made on the gaming world is incredible, and it all began with the classic title back in 2000. The social simulation video game opened up a new realm of possibilities for video games and introduced many to the world of gaming who previously had little interest in what was available. While the series has evolved and grown over the years, many fans still hold fond memories of the original and might find themselves wishing they could return to that world.

was not an easy game. In fact, it was possibly even harder than and other entries in the series have been. Despite this, it introduced the world to the lovable Sims and their virtual world and is a game that many would love to see be made easily available on modern systems. Now, although there have been no announcements regarding a re-release of, there are many factors that would make this a perfect time for EA to consider doing just that.

Recently, EA released several of its classic games on Steam and even placed many of them on sale. Although was not one of the included titles, many other games from around the same time, such as and, were among the entries. Making such a large amount of popular older games available for players on modern systems is a good sign that EA is at least moving in the right direction for a possible release of classic title.

One thing to consider is that may not have been included in EA's release of classic titles on Steam because they could be planning something else with it. In February 2025, will celebrate its 25th anniversary, which would be the ideal time for a special anniversary edition of the classic game to appear. Preferably it could even be a remaster of the 25-year-old game, with some updated quality-of-life mechanics while remaining true to the original nature of the retro title.
