A Lot of Phasmophobia Players Are Missing One of Its Easiest Achievements

There's a particular achievement that a lot of players of the survival horror hit Phasmophobia have overlooked, and it turns out to be one of the easiest trophies one can earn in the game. Despite being over three years old, the game remains popular and shows no signs of stopping with console versions of Phasmophobia still on the way, albeit delayed.

Phasmophobia innovated on the survival horror genre when it was released at the height of the pandemic in September 2020, making use of voice chat to influence events in each game session. It became really popular during the lockdowns because of Twitch and YouTube streamers who made it highly entertaining, contributing to record sales on Steam. While Phasmophobia is long past its glory days, it has still retained a loyal fanbase.

Redditor Kiska_Hacker was browsing their Steam library when they were looking at the Phasmophobia page and noticed the «No More Training Wheels» achievement. This achievement is given to new players who have completed the game's tutorial, and they noticed that only 1.4% of players have earned what is technically the easiest achievement to get in Phasmophobia. With how few players have it, though, it's also apparently the easiest to miss. Another Redditor observed that many veterans have been playing since before there were achievements for Phasmophobia, and most of them seemingly weren't concerned enough about racking up trophies to go back and play the tutorial.

Meanwhile, there's still a chance for new players to get the trophy and bring that number up, as developer Kinetic Games continues to maintain the game years after it debuted, having just released a Phasmophobia update in January 2024. The patch mainly changed graphics settings involving lighting, making for better visuals. There were also a number of small fixes and gameplay balance additions, showing that the team is mindful of players' experiences.
