2K has announced a Top Spin reboot with a teaser trailer

2K has officially announced that it’s rebooting the Top Spin series.

Confirming a previous report which claimed it planned to bring back the tennis franchise, the publisher has announced TopSpin 2K25.

The teaser trailer below, which says the game is “coming soon,” was released to coincide with the start of the Australian Open this week.

“TopSpin 2K25 is the next must-play sports game from 2K that fully immerses fans into the world of tennis,” 2K claimed.

“For more information on TopSpin 2K25, including release date, game features and more, stay tuned.”

Kotaku claimed in May 2022 that a reboot of the Top Spin tennis series was in development at Novoto, California-based 2K studio Hangar 13 under the codename Project Hammer.

It also reported that Hangar 13’s Brighton office was leading early development of a Mafia prequel built with Unreal Engine 5.

The last entry in the Top Spin series was released in 2011 for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

Top Spin 4 was developed by 2K Czech, which would go on to be merged into Hangar 13 in 2017.
