This DLC is focused on desert survival, implementing many new items and methods for surviving in the harsh sun. Overall, offers one of the hardest gameplay experiences in an already extremely difficult game. Thus, it is crucial that the new animals, whether they can be tamed or not, provide an opportunity to challenge and assist players.

The Jug Bug is a new desert-loving insect that players can encounter. While big for an insect, it is one of the smaller creatures in with its only notable feature being a large sack in its rear that will fill up over time. The Jug Bug poses no threat and will run away if attacked. There is also no need to kill them as the amount of resources, meat and chitin, will be inefficient compared to the time spent.

The reason Jug Bug is cool and why players will want to keep them around is the harvested resources from them. They will come in two colors, blue and red, and this color will determine what resources they provide when their sack fills. Blue ones will give water, which is crucial for staying hydrated in. Red Jug Bugs will provide the ever-important endgame resource oil. The sole caveat with these bugs is they cannot be tamed, meaning players must wrangle these insects into captivity to access their priority resources.
