Xbox Game Pass is Losing A Critically-Acclaimed Game on January 31

The Xbox Game Pass subscription service is losing Hitman: World of Assassination on Wednesday, January 31. Xbox Game Pass subscribers know to expect game removals on the 15th of each month and the last day of each month. However, there are times when the Xbox Game Pass removals stray from the established pattern and happen on unexpected days.

This was the case with the Xbox Game Pass removals from earlier in January 2024. Grand Theft Auto 5 was removed on January 5 instead of January 15, though another batch of games were removed on the latter date. On January 15, Xbox Game Pass lost Garden Story, MotoGP 22, Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 4 Golden. It was definitely sad to see those games go, though the good news is that Xbox Game Pass subscribers are only losing one more game this month.

January 31 will be the last day for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to play Hitman: World of Assassination. For those who are unfamiliar with the game, Hitman: World of Assassination started life as Hitman 3. Developer IO Interactive then decided to incorporate content from the first two Hitman reboot games into Hitman 3 and re-branded it Hitman: World of Assassination. It's the definitive way to experience the latest Hitman trilogy, so fans of the franchise and stealth games should certainly consider giving it a go while it's still available on Xbox Game Pass.

All three of IO Interactive's new Hitman games earned positive reviews from critics, with particular praise given to Hitman 3. Hitman 3 has an 85 overall rating, making it the highest-rated game in the reboot trilogy. With Hitman: World of Assassination offering so much value, it's definitely disappointing that it's leaving the Xbox Game Pass lineup. On the bright side, there are plenty of new games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to check out this month.

Multiple new games have been added to Xbox Game Pass for January 2024 already, with even more on the way. Xbox recently pulled the curtain back on the new Game Pass games coming in
