Will Star Wars Outlaws Be On Xbox Game Pass At Launch?

Since Xbox Game Pass first launched in June 2017, one of the subscription's main selling points has been its inclusion of some major game releases upon their release dates. While these are usually first-party titles owned by Microsoft — and the company certainly has plenty of them coming over the coming years, as is evident by its impressive showcase in June 2024 — there have been plenty of occasions where third-party studios have struck a deal to launch on the subscription service.

Xbox has recently changed its Game Pass tiers, only allowing day-one titles on some more premium tiers.

With Massive Entertainment's upcoming certainly being one of the more high-profile titles of 2024 due to Ubisoft's marketing push and the fact it's an open-world game piquing some interest, there are sure to be some subscribers who are hopeful that they will get the title included as part of their subscription. The title is set to launch on August 30 and will focus on scoundrel Kay Vess' journey through the Outer Rim's criminal underworld rather than a Jedi-focused story like many games that came before it, with plenty of iconic locations and the appearance of some recognizable faces throughout.

Star Wars Outlaws is every bit the rogue fantasy it promises at first glance, with a cheeky protagonist and lots of promise underneath.

Unfortunately for those hopeful Game Pass subscribers, will not be coming to the subscription at launch, despite it initially being revealed as part of the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2023 before an Ubisoft Forward showcase provided a more in-depth look the following day. It will, however, be included in Ubisoft's own Ubisoft+ subscription, which has a «Premium» tier for access to day-one titles on PC and Xbox. This tier costs a monthly fee of $17.99 and includes access to premium editions, DLC, and monthly rewards.
