Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Co-Op and Multiplayer Modes Revealed in New Trailer, Dev Promises No MTX

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Home Entertainment have released a new trailer for this year’s Warhammer Skulls Festival. The trailer showcases the game’s co-op and player-vs-player multiplayer modes.

Space Marine 2 will feature three game modes:

• Campaign: What players are most familiar with. Players will take on the role as Lieutenant Titus and can play through the story either solo or with up to two other friends in a squad.
• Operations: In this PvE mode, players will select from one of the game’s six classes and will be tasked with “defeating various xeno abominations.” Players can fully customize their Space Marine in this mode.
• Eternal War: Chaos and Imperium go head-to-head in this 6v6 multiplayer game mode.

Following the reveal of the trailer, the team shared a new community update to Steam, declaring that Space Marine 2 will not feature microtransactions. The update promises that there will be no inclusion of microtransactions nor will there be an in-game shop. Gameplay and content released for the game will be free for all players and the only paid DLC sold will be cosmetic in nature.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 releases on September 9 for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
