Sony president and PlayStation chairman Hiroki Totoki has spoken of the opportunities available in its approach to releasing first-party games on PC, saying it's «proactively [working] on» bringing more titles to other platforms as part of an «aggressive» profit margin growth plan.
The Silent Hill 2 remake trailer that appeared during Sony's State of Play showcase in January did not make the best possible impression. Fans on Reddit described it as «rough,» «wooden,» and «straight out of SH Homecoming, which is a PS3 game.» Among the people who didn't care for it was, somewhat unexpectedly, Piotr Babieno, CEO of Silent Hill 2 developer Bloober Team, who said in an interview with inwestorzy.tv that the trailer «does not reflect the spirit of the game.»

Sony has announced the latest lineup of games coming to their PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers this February. Subscribers can look forward to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Need for Speed Unbound, four different entries in Bandai Namco’s Tales series, including the most recent Tales of Arise, and more. Premium subscribers have some things to look forward to as well, including newly-enhanced releases of Resistance: Retribution and Jet Moto 2.
Sony and Arrowhead Studios’ Helldivers 2 launched last week on PC and PS5, the rare PlayStation PC/console simultaneously release, and things are working out quite well for the throwback co-op shooter. Hellblade has been a consistent top 10 presence on the Steam charts, with the game peaking at over 200 thousand (203,312 to be exact) players yesterday.

MLB The Show has announced that this year's game, MLB The Show 24, will feature the franchise's first female player, the Negro Leagues' Toni Stone. MLB The Show's Negro Leagues Season 2 follows the feature's introduction in last year's title.
The February additions to the PlayStation Plus Premium and Essential were unveiled by Sony on Wednesday morning, and it’s a great batch of games for RPG fans. Thirteen games will hit the service on February 20, many of which come from Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Tales Off series. The most exciting addition for me is The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, which is the complete version of a fantastic sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment.
