PlayStation’s new chairman and Sony’s current president was asked for his early assessment working directly with the games business during an earnings call on Wednesday, and told listeners he believes its studios can improve “when it comes to business”.
Sony had a record quarter for PlayStation sales and revenue, but expects console sales to decline in the next fiscal year.
Don't expect new games in any of PlayStation's biggest existing franchises before the end of this financial year, Sony has said.

During its Q3 2023 earnings release, Sony updated investors on the new PS5 sales milestone. Just in December, it had announced 50 million units sold. The latest PlayStation console has now reached 54.8 million units sold since its November 2020 launch, having sold 8.2 million units in the last quarter.
Don't expect any new PS5 blockbusters any time soon, because Sony won't release any "major existing franchise titles" before April 1, 2025.
