Today's Xbox Games Showcase wrapped up with a bang: A new Gears of War is on the way—and it's a prequel.
As teased by various rumors, a new Gears was indeed announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, but it's actually titled Gears of War: E-Day. Ubisoft is having a great 2024. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown started the year off strong by being critically acclaimed, while the successful launch of XDefiant and a promising early access roguelike in The Rogue Prince of Persia continued that momentum in May. For $10 a month, you can purchase an “R6 Membership,” which will get you access to all premium battle passes with 10 levels unlocked, time-limited legendary items, and more. You can check out the full rundown, below.
Rainbow Six Siege has been an ongoing success for Ubisoft for nearly a decade now, and shows no sign of slowing down—it was just in March, in fact, that the game set a new all-time concurrent player record on Steam of more than 201,000. But not everyone is thrilled with the weekend announcement of a new subscription service for Siege called R6 Membership, which promises exclusive content drops, animated skins, and premium battle pass access for $10 per month.
The Division Heartland, the now-canceled free-to-play take on the looter shooter series, was originally set to be a battle royale mode.
The Italian Soulslike game Enotria: The Last Song has had its release date moved again. Originally slated to launch on June 21, it was first delayed to August 21 because of the nearby launch of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
