A cute little building game released this week called Gourdlets, all about designing cozy towns for little vegetable people to walk around and enjoy themselves in. Made by solo designer AuntyGames, we first saw a simple demo of it back in 2022, but this full release is way richer with stuff to build and quality of life delights.
While fishing is an everyday activity in, catching all four Legendary Fish is easier said than done. Each fish corresponds to a different season, so you'll have to play the game for at least one full in-game year before you're able to even have the chance to catch them all. On top of this,you can't catch them until you're Fishing rank 30, so you'll have plenty of practice by the time you find them.

September 2024 just got a whole lot cozier, as indie developer Pounce Light has announced a release date for its adorable castle-doodling sim Tiny Glade. The massively popular demo for the game is also back up on Steam in case you didn't get around to trying it before.
Most of the work you do in will go towards increasing your Town Rank, and upping this rank quickly will open up the game so you can play however you please. Unsurprisingly, this cute farming sim is doing numbers on Steam, and that's partly thanks to its rewarding Town Rank and Renown system. In order to increase your Town Rank, you'll need to complete activities that award Renown; after every 10 Renown, your Town Rank will go up by one.
A bunch of the Engadget crew loves the Playdate, the tiny, quirky portable console with a load of great indie games and a crank on the side. I've long had my eye on it, but never pulled the trigger for one reason or another.
