More than a year after Destiny 2 studio Bungie won a $4.4 million award against cheat maker AimJunkies, two US courts have effectively locked in the victory: One ruling affirmed the amount of the award, which AimJunkies had appealed, while another denied the company's request for a new trial.

The original Borderlands was the first game to popularize the looter shooter genre that mixes first-person shooting with the satisfying loot grind of Diablo 4. While many other games, such as Destiny 2 and The First Descendant, have taken the genre in the live-service direction, the Borderlands games have remained focused on the core single and co-op experience. Borderlands 3 in particular is a far better experience playing with friends than alone. Since it came out at such an odd time, this game is spread across not only all consoles, but also multiple generations. Everything about Concord, on some level, works, or works well in isolation. Roka's heat-seeking missile launcher tracks targets with a satisfying *bleep bleep bleep*. Starchild's double-jump/power slam ability combo feels great when you can hit multiple targets. But Concord's occasional moments of satisfaction are waylaid by a competitive shooter experience that's too often sluggish, boring, and devoid of any interesting tactics beyond balling up as a team and standing on an objective.
