A researcher has built a pipeline of tools to turn one of Google Maps' 3D tiles into a world of voxels in Minecraft, with the result being a surprisingly good looking and just deeply impressive process that spits out voxelized versions of the earth. Created by graduate student Ryan Hardesty Lewis at Cornell Tech in New York, the Voxel Earth technique spits out voxels that can be exported to Minecraft, a browser, or whatever it is you want to see a bit of voxelized Earth.
Playing retro games on iPhone and iPad is about to get even easier. As reported by Cult of Mac, Antstream Arcade, a subscription service that gives you access to over 1,300 licensed games, is making its way to iOS and iPadOS on June 27.

Today, Larian Studios finally outlined a release plan for the official Baldur's Gate 3 mod tools. The Closed Alpha is actually available today, though only for a select group of mod creators from the community, which will be expanded over time.
In terms of updates, Baldur's Gate 3 is—for the most part—starting to wind down, with the latest patch released in February of this year and Larian shifting gears to work on its new RPGs. That's only normal (the Sword Coast doesn't need battle passes), but there's still one more patch left in the oven: Patch 7.
