Tomb Raider: This is Lara Croft's New Look

The next Tomb Raider game that is currently in development has presumably shared the first official sneak peek of hero Lara Croft, and it's an exciting throwback. Tomb Raider is one of the most successful action-adventure franchises in gaming, and the next mainline game, currently titled Tomb Raider Next, is giving Lara Croft a new look.

Nearly 30 years after the first game, Lara Croft is coming back once again in an all-new Tomb Raider title. As one of the most popular female protagonists in the history of gaming, Lara Croft has starred in three separate Tomb Raider trilogies and many other titles in between since the franchise's genesis in 1996. There have been various versions of Lara Croft through the years, but her appearance in the original trilogy is one of the most iconic and notable for many fans of the long-running series. The last time fans were given a chance to play as Lara Croft was back in 2018 with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but a new entry in the series is bringing her back into the spotlight.

A brand-new image from developer Crystal Dynamics shows an all-new Lara Croft that blends her original look with her revamped appearance in the Survivor trilogy. The next Tomb Raider game is still shrouded in mystery, but this official artwork teases a new and exciting chapter for Lara Croft. The all-new image was revealed on February 14, Lara Croft's birthday, via a fresh Tomb Raider website.

When visiting the website, fans can solve a glyph puzzle that reveals the image as a fun reward. Lara Croft can be seen wearing her iconic teal tank top and brown shorts as she wields two pistols. The Survivor trilogy's portrayal of Lara Croft focused on her being skilled with a bow, but it looks like Tomb Raider Next will bring back her iconic dual-wielded pistols from the original games, which is exciting news for many longtime fans.
