Today's Connections Hints & Answers For August 21, 2024 (Puzzle #436)

Today's puzzle has quite an assortment of different words, and this always makes the puzzle harder to solve. However, some clues can make this a little easier if you know what to look for. Below we have a plethora of hints to help you solve today's puzzle.

If you like, check out the NYT puzzle that allows you to make words out of very cute honeycombs. This will test your knowledge of the dictionary, as you have to come up with words of a certain length as opposed to shorter words. This can make it much more difficult to come up with a wider variety of words, but you will want to do your best to get the highest score possible.

The New York Times Vertex game asks you to form a picture by connecting dots, but you have to understand the image to solve this puzzle quickly.

Personally, I feel like all of these words are more different than the category suggests. I do not PLASTER my wall the same way I'd COAT a cake with icing. Even then, I would not CAKE on makeup the same way eyeliner can get SMEARed. It's just not the same. However, they do have a similar vibe of covering something else, and I can see why they are all in this category, even if I'm skeptical about it.
