These Star Wars Theories Elevate A Bunch Of Scenes For Fans

Fans of the Star Wars universe have been discussing their favorite theories that turn ordinary scenes into something truly magical. This franchise has already captivated countless viewers as it is, but it turns out that things can get even more emotional if one looks at them from a certain point of view.

Star Wars is a series of stories that, by and large, stands up on its own. From more light-hearted fare like Solo: A Star Wars Story to genuine masterpieces like The Empire Strikes Back, The Last Jedi, and Andor, this eminent science-fantasy franchise never fails to pull out the big guns. But with any long-running institution there comes plenty of depth to delve through, and that's what fans have been doing here. Star Wars fan theories are nothing new, but these ones are special.

Users in the Star Wars subreddit recently held a discussion on what theories and headcanons they hold that make certain scenes really pop. The idea is that, in many cases, scenes from older movies take on new meaning when developments from newer materials retroactively come into play. That's not the only way a theory can come around, but it's a big catalyst. That's why one commenter, for example, pointed out how Obi-Wan's smile just before his death in A New Hope can now feel almost triumphant since he's seeing Luke and Leia finally reunited. But that's not the only one.

«Obi-Wan's smile at seeing Luke and Leia together again at last in ANH, right before his sacrifice.»

Another reply brought up the initial reveal of Luke Skywalker's new lightsaber in Return of the Jedi. At the time, it just looked like a cool new design with a different color from his previous saber. But this particular user pointed out a theory that Luke actually used Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber crystal and Obi-Wan's specs, which would explain why it looks so similar to Obi-Wan's hilt while just so happening to have a green blade like Qui-Gon's. 2 generations of Jedi represented in one new design. It's like poetry; it rhymes.
