The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition Expected to Fully Release Later This Year

The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition is expected to be fully released later this year, according to modder 'Halk Hogan'.

A new video providing a preview of the 'real next-gen' textures included with the graphical overhaul project was some hours ago, providing comparisons with the vanilla and complete editions of CDPR's hit title. As we've covered before, the graphical differences are significant, and those PC players who want to re-experience The Witcher 3 once more, will surely be happy with this project. Although the creator of the mod hasn't provided an exact release date for The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition just yet, he does mention that he plans to release it before the end of the year.

"I'm happy to show you what I've been working on lately: true next-gen high-quality textures using the new mapping technique implemented in the Nextgen version of the game", the modder writes. "Thanks to this, many textures in HDRP NextGen Edition will be much more realistic, and the examples shown in the video are only a part of all of them. The cost of performance is relatively low, so you definitely shouldn't worry about it. As for the release date, I can't give any details yet, because there's a huge amount of work to do, but expect a release this fall."

The first version of the HD Reworked Project for The Witcher 3 Next-Gen was released back in December of last year. For those unfamiliar with the modder's work - the HD Reworked project aims to massively improve the game's textures and models while preserving the original style.
