The Witcher 3 Becomes A Horror Game Thanks To Mod That Turns Geralt Into A Necromancer

may already be filled with undead monstrosities but players who want to use these zombies for their own nefarious gain should check out this necromancy mod. One of the more unexplored mechanics on offer in Geralt's third mainline video game adventure is the idea of collecting trophies of particularly challenging monsters, hanging them from Roach as a symbol of strength that also grants some minor passive bonuses. The system is sparse and can largely be ignored, but with the assistance of a fun add-on, it takes on an entirely new form.

Posted to Nexus Mods by creator Freak, the «Trophy Necromancy» mod allows Geralt to summon whatever trophies he's collected back to life as monsters that can fight by his side. Leaning into the more horrific practice of necromancy fits into the overall tone of, even though it seems unlikely that The White Wolf would engage in such dark arts. Fortunately, this non-canon mod at least makes trophies more valuable as the undead creatures that fight by Geralt's side gain experience just like their master, becoming stronger the more enemies they manage to slay.

Those looking to complete 100% of The Witcher 3 will need to explore every part of the game to earn secret achievements/trophies from different goals.

Gaining access to the necromancy ability is actually surprisingly easy as a simple book can be discovered during the «Necromancy, the forbidden magic» quest that unlocks the sinister magic. With the tome assigned to a quick-use slot, players will need to make sure whatever trophy they want to summon from the dead is also equipped. Once those requirements have been met, a simple press of a button will allow Geralt to call forth whatever abomination he wants.

It's worth noting that every summonable trophy monster begins at Level 1 and can only stick around for 30 seconds but once they start gaining levels, they'll extend their second life much longer. Their level caps are tied to Geralt's, so the stronger the master, the more powerful
