Since then, follow-ups Outlast: Whistleblower and Outlast 2 brought even more heart-pounding survival horror to the forefront. With Outlast 2 being released back in 2017, it was exciting news when The Outlast Trials was officially announced. Not only were fans going to get another entry in the series, but The Outlast Trials promised multiplayer for the first time in the franchise's history.
