Team Cherry: Hollow Knight Silksong Receives Xbox Store Page With ESRB Rating

The highly anticipated Hollow Knight Silksong has received an Xbox Store page, complete with an ESRB rating.

Of all the possible days, the long-overdue sequel to 2017's Hollow Knight received its Xbox store page yesterday. Team Cherry's marketing and PR handler Matthew 'Leth' Griffin posted this yesterday, which had many believing it was a bad April 1st joke. The Xbox page is real, however, and it's been rated by the ESRB as well. Like its predecessor, Silksong has been rated "Everyone 10+" with "fantasy violence" and "mild blood". It should be noted that the sequel has had Nintendo eShop and PS Store pages for years. These store pages, however, didn't feature an ESRB rating (and still don't, at the time of writing).

Related Story Hollow Knight Silksong Delayed As Development is “Still Continuing”

In general, games receive ratings close to release, but this doesn't mean that Silksong's release is imminent - various games have received ratings months before an actual release.

Silksong was initially intended to be an expansion for 2017's Hollow Knight, but due to the scope of the game, Team Cherry decided to release it as a full-fledged sequel. The game was planned to be released in the first half of last year, but it was delayed to give the game additional development time. ""We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing", Griffin wrote on X last year. "We're excited by how the game is shaping up, and it's gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.

Hollow Knight Silksong is coming to PC, Xbox (Game Pass on day one), PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
