Take a Look at Skyrim With Ray Tracing and Over 3100 Mods

Have you ever spent a couple of nights installing thousands of mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim only to not bother playing the actual game once done? Or is that just a me problem? It turns out some people do actually play Skyrim after installing a metric ton of mods. Or at least YouTuber Digital Dreams does.

Digital Dreams recently shared a video showing what Skyrim looks like with 3100 mods, featuring Complete Ray Tracing Reshade, among others. While Skyrim may have released in 2011, it turns out that if you throw a ton of mods at it you can get it to look like it might’ve come out in the current decade.

Digital Dreams mod list improves the game with volumetric smoke, more trees and foliage, and much more realistic lighting than we see in the base game. The game’s textures appear to be completely overhauled in many cases and touched up in others.

We’re likely a long ways away from The Elder Scrolls VI, so if you want to just throw up your hands and say “Fine, I’ll do it myself” there are plenty of mods out there to breathe new life into Bethesda’s existing offering.

There’s also Elder Scrolls Online, which just received i’s 43rd update.
