Strange Fallout 4 Clip Shows Mama Murphy Breakdancing

A Fallout 4 player has shown off a hilarious clip that appears to show older NPC Mama Murphy breakdancing on top of a pommel horse. Fallout 4 has seen plenty of funny moments over the years, but this one definitely ranks among the most bizarre.

Bethesda titles are well known for producing unintentional comedic gold, thanks to their robust sandboxes. Whether it be Skyrim, Fallout 4, or Starfield, there’s always something funny right around the corner — it’s an expected part of the experience at this point. A recent Fallout 4 glitch makes Cait use a shotgun in a really weird way, and it’s a perfect example of how the game’s sandbox can produce some odd situations at times. Despite being almost nine years old now, it seems like there’s no end to Fallout 4’s funny clips.

This particular clip was posted online by Redditor European_Samurai, showcasing Mama Murphy appearing to breakdance on one of Fallout 4’s pommel horses, which were added in the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC. Throughout Fallout 4's main story, Mama Murphy is portrayed as old and frail, so to see her manage this is definitely an odd sight. The situation is only made more hilarious by her dialogue in the game, as she claims mid-breakdance, “I used to be quite the adventurer when I was younger. Now these old bones just can’t keep up.”

It isn’t clear exactly what is causing the issue, although some in the thread had a theory that definitely makes a lot of sense. One of the early-game Fallout 4 quests has players build Mama Murphy a chair. If players instead place a pommel horse, the game could see this as an adequate replacement, allowing Mama Murphy to use it in its place. With the default pommel horse animation being so high-energy, it results in the strange issue portrayed here.

Although it’s been a few years since the last game in the series, it’s a great time to be a Fallout fan at the moment. The upcoming TV show at Amazon marks a huge step into another medium for the franchise, and it looks extremely promising.
