Stardew Valley Update 1.6 Patch Notes Revealed

Stardew Valley creator Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone has announced that Update 1.6 is now available for PC players to download. With ConcernedApe having started development on Haunted Chocolatier, many fans assumed that he would be done releasing substantial new updates for Stardew Valley. However, Stardew Valley Update 1.6 is one of the biggest updates released for the game to-date.

ConcernedApe has been teasing fans about what they can expect from Stardew Valley Update 1.6. Prior to the release of the full patch notes, it was revealed that the new update would be adding a new farm type, letting players drink mayonnaise, adding a honeymoon period for spouses, and making a variety of other quality-of-life improvements. Now Stardew Valley fans know about those changes and everything else that's new with Update 1.6 thanks to the release of the full patch notes.

Some of the more significant new features include the introduction of the three-day Desert Festival event in the spring, the Trout Derby and SquidFest fishing festivals, and a new environmental event in the summer, though the patch notes don't go into detail about what exactly that entails. Players can also enjoy the new Meadowlands Farm type, new NPC dialogue, a mysterious new mastery system available in a new area, the ability to adopt multiple pets, a world map for Ginger Island, four new crops (carrots, summer squash, broccoli, powdermelon), new home renovations, a slew of new items, and a lot more. Players will have to check out the update for themselves to see absolutely everything it has to offer.

While PC gamers can enjoy all the Stardew Valley Update 1.6 changes right now, those on other platforms have to wait. Stardew Valley Update 1.6 is on the way for mobile and consoles as well, but a specific release date has not been announced at the time of this writing. Considering how significant Update 1.6 is, hopefully Stardew Valley fans on other platforms don't have to wait too much longer to play it for
