Star Wars Writer Confirms the Return of Asajj Ventress

Star Wars fans have been thoroughly enjoying the latest project, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Exciting updates and storyline progression within the series have now confirmed the return of a familiar villain.

Asajj Ventress made a significant impact in the acclaimed Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, matching wits and strength with formidable characters such as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano. Recent developments suggest that her story is far from over, promising more of her captivating journey.

In an interview with Starwars.com, Jennifer Corbett, the head writer and executive producer ofThe Bad Batch, hinted at the potential return of Asajj Ventress in a future Star Wars project. Corbett expressed that there is 'unfinished business' with Nika Futterman, the voice behind Ventress. Ventress, known for her skills as a dual-lightsaber-wielding Sith assassin under Count Dooku's command, had her story take unexpected turns in the past, left incomplete due to the show's cancellation. Now, Corbett suggests they have the opportunity to delve further into Ventress's narrative.

“Ventress is one of our all-time favorite characters,” shares executive producer Brad Rau. “So, when Dave brought up the idea of bringing her into The Bad Batch, we were beyond excited.” Although Ventress's story did not end on screen but rather in Star Wars: Dark Disciple, a novel adapted from unused scripts of The Clone Wars, executive producers Corbett and Rau, along with series creator Dave Filoni, had a different vision.

In the Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 trailer, there was a hint that Ventress was alive, teasing her potential return to the series. However, it was not until the latest episode, «The Harbinger,» that she finally made an appearance. Despite this, the episode did not provide any explanation regarding how Ventress managed to survive. Corbett elaborated on ongoing discussions about how to further develop Ventress's narrative. She confirmed Ventress's involvement
