Splatoon 3 Releases Update 6.1.0

Splatoon 3's 6.1.0 update is now available to download. The latest software update comes just under a month before Splatoon 3's Side Order DLC. While the upcoming DLC will bring in a new single-player campaign, this patch focuses on multiplayer tweaks and balance changes. As one of Nintendo's premiere multiplayer experiences on the Switch, the development team has continuously supported Splatoon 3 since its launch in 2022.

Additionally, the update brings fixes to bugs within multiplayer, the fan-favorite Salmon Run mode, and overall player controls.

According to Nintendo, the next update for Splatoon 3 will come toward the end of the current season. The next update will also primarily focus on multiplayer and balance adjustments for weapons, as well as adding new content for the upcoming season. The next season of Splatoon 3 is slated to be released in March.

Splatoon 3 is one of the best first-party Nintendo Switch games, and a big reason why is the development team's ability to keep the community engaged through continuous updates and expansions. Despite the Wii U being a major disappointment for Nintendo, one of the bright spots was the release of Splatoon – a new IP at the time. That initial entry kept hardcore fans busy until a sequel
