SNK fully reveals Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, with 2025 release confirmed

SNK has premiered the first detailed look at Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, which it has confirmed will be released in 2025.

The new game, which was announced at the Evo fighting game tournament last year, will be the first new Fatal Fury game since 1999’s Garou: Mark of the Wolves (known as Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves on Dreamcast).

On Sunday, SNK premiered a pair of videos at its SNK World Championship event in Los Angeles, California. The first is an announcement trailer, following last year’s teaser, and the second reveals five characters set to appear in City of the Wolves.

The new game will be playable at EVO Japan 2024, SNK said, which is set to take place from April 27  in Tokyo.

The new Fatal Fury looks similar in appearance to SNK’s The King of Fighters XV, though the characters appear to have more of a comic book effect with thicker black outlines.

Although there hasn’t been a new Fatal Fury since 1999, many of the characters from the series including Terry Bogard, Joe Higashi and Mai Shiranui have appeared in other fighting games, most notably the King of Fighters series.

Fatal Fury protagonist Terry Bogard’s last major appearance was in 2019, when he appeared as one of the DLC fighters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
