Sega says its Gamescom line-up includes an unannounced game

Sega has revealed its Gamescom 2024 line-up, including a previously unannounced game.

The publisher will have three playable games at this year’s show, but only two of them are known to the public.

Sonic X Shadow Generations will be playable at the show, marking its first playable appearance in Europe.

Sega will also have a playable build of Atlus‘s Metaphor: ReFantazio, which is also making its playable debut in Europe.

However, it also notes that “completing the line-up of playable titles on the Sega stand is an as yet unannounced project”.

Sega says its Gamescom stand will also feature numerous photo opportunities. Sonic will be in attendance and posing for photos with fans, while a custom-built Shadow motorcycle will also be on display.

A giant Seeker statue from Metaphor: ReFantazio will also be present at Sega’s booth, with fans able to take photos with it.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is an updated version of the 2011 platformer Sonic Generations, and will be released on October 25 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The original game sees Sonic and friends teaming up with their past selves, with the game playing out across two styles of gameplay: ‘classic’, which is mostly side-scrolling, and ‘modern’, which features 3D levels.

The new version will feature a “complete remaster” of Sonic Generations, with “upgraded visuals and new bonus content”, as well as new content featuring Shadow.
