Seasoned Animal Crossing Players Are Just Now Finding Out Their Wealth Is A Problem

Having enough Bells in to execute the most elaborate terraforming plans is the dream, but it seems Nintendo has put a cap on how much wealth players can have in-game. After years of swapping turnip prices with fellow players and hoarding Bells like dragons, one player has found that it is, in fact, possible to have too much money.

While visiting Nook's Cranny to sell some items from their inventory, Reddit user no_maj found that they weren't able to trade their items for Bells through the game's drop-off box. This new player character doesn't have all the same perks as the starting character does, though it does have a new savings account with a max amount of 999,999,999 Bells.

Creating a new character in the same save file also provides another house to decorate. This additional house will also need to be fully upgraded if the player wants the additional 5,000 storage slots, costing a whopping 8,996,000 Bells, though anyone looking to
