Rumor: PlayStation Exclusive Game Could Reveal PC Port Soon

A PC port for Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima could be announced as early as this week, at least according to a rumor from a reliable industry insider. Ghost of Tsushima was released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive back in 2020 and earned rave reviews for its visually stunning open world, engaging combat and stealth gameplay, and compelling plot set against the backdrop of Japan’s feudal era. An updated PS5 port was released in 2021, adding haptic feedback courtesy of the DualSense controller and a new story campaign that pitted Jin Sakai against a sinister Mongolian cult on Japan’s Iki Island.

Rumors that Sony is planning to port Ghost of Tsushima to PC have circulated across the internet as early as 2021 when it was named in the massive Nvidia GeForce Now leak that listed several former PlayStation exclusives that eventually received PC ports. More recently, Ghost of Tsushima was included in a rumored list of first-party Sony games that will supposedly be released on PC in 2024, with some fans even speculating that its PC port could be announced sometime later this month.

One of those fans is Nick Baker, co-host of the Xbox Era podcast and a reliable source of information within the gaming industry. In his latest Twitter post, Baker claims to have heard reports that Ghost of Tsushima’s long-awaited PC port could be officially revealed sometime this week. According to his sources, this announcement could come on Tuesday, March 5.

So far, Sony has brought several of its biggest PlayStation-exclusive titles to the PC market with varying levels of success over the past few years. While games like God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn hit it big among PC gamers, others like Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and The Last of Us Part 1 have struggled to match their success on their native PS platform. Just last month, Helldivers 2 gained many fans after launching on PC and PS5 simultaneously, and Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition will make its way to Windows computers
