Resident Evil 4 Remake Gets Big Price Drop

Capcom has issued a significant price drop for the Resident Evil 4 remake, letting gamers buy the game at $39.99, $20 off its usual asking price of $59.99. The Resident Evil 4 remake was one of the highest-rated new game releases of 2023. It found itself nominated for multiple awards at The Game Awards last year, and it proved to be a monumental sales success for developer/publisher Capcom at the same time.

Capcom supported Resident Evil 4 post-launch with updates that added some features that were missing from the remake, like The Mercenaries mode. Capcom also released paid DLC for the Resident Evil 4 remake, like the Separate Ways campaign starring fan favorite character Ada Wong. Anyone that has yet to pick up the Resident Evil 4 remake for themselves should note that the base game is currently enjoying a permanent price cut.

At the time of this writing, the Resident Evil 4 remake price has been slashed to $39.99 on PlayStation, Steam, and Xbox. Considering Resident Evil 4 remake's glowing reviews and the content that was added to the game post-launch, $39.99 is a great price. However, some may want to pay a little more and get Resident Evil 4: Gold Edition instead.

Originally announced for release on February 20, the Resident Evil 4: Gold Edition version of the game seems to already be available on at least some digital storefronts. For $49.99, so still $10 cheaper than what the base game was before its price drop, Resident Evil 4: Gold Edition gets players the base game, the Separate Ways DLC, and the Extra DLC Pack, which includes the Casual, Romantic, Hero, and Villain Costumes/Filters for Leon, the Casual and Romantic Costumes for Ashley, the Sunglasses (Sporty) accessory for Leon, the Sentinenal Nine and Skull Shaker Weapons, the Original Ver. Soundtrack Swap, and the Treasure Map: Expansion.

Those deciding which platform to purchase the Resident Evil 4 remake on should note that the game is basically the same across PC, PS5, and Xbox, with the exception of one
