Red Dead Redemption 2 Gets New Update

Rockstar has released a surprise update for Red Dead Redemption 2, bringing a host of stability fixes as well as support for AMD FSR 2.2. The new Red Dead Redemption 2 update brings the game up to version 1.32 across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The last major update for Red Dead Redemption 2 was update 1.31, which was released almost a year ago now. Because of this, it's somewhat surprising that Rockstar is still continuing to launch any kind of substantial update for the game almost six years after it was first released. A recent patch for Red Dead Onlinewas released to combat some exploits used by cheaters, although it's been a while since the single-player portion of the game was touched by the studio. Still, anything that makes Red Dead Redemption 2 a better game than it already is will always be welcomed by the community.

The Rockstar Support site posted the patch notes for Red Dead Redemption 2's 1.32 update, and it's quite a short list. As well as general stability fixes across the board, 1.32 also includes support for AMD FSR 2.2 and HDR10+ Gaming on compatible systems. The few gamers playing at a 3200x2400 resolution will also find that the glitch previously preventing it from being used has now also been fixed. Red Dead Redemption 2 is already one of the best Rockstar games on the market, and this latest patch only makes it better.

Rumors of a new Red Dead Redemption 2 update first began to swirl around a month ago, and it seems they were correct. The 1.32 update was never officially announced by the developer, instead being shadow-dropped across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. With any new substantial content for Red Dead Redemption 2 extremely improbable in the future, most future updates for the game will likely be similar in size to 1.32, ironing out any of the smaller bugs left in the game.

Even with this new update, it's safe to say that Rockstar's attention is largely away from Red Dead Redemption 2. With Grand Theft Auto 6 on the way and
