Ravendawn To Balance Market Oversupply Issue from Land, and Get its First PTR Ahead of 'Mini Expansion' PvP Patch

Ravendawn will be getting a major PvP update that the Tavernlight Games devs are calling like a “mini expansion”. There’s also a new update coming to address market oversupply issues from land rules.

When it came to recent land distribution, the team added new zones and decided to add a number of plots of different sizes to both servers, while also balancing individual claims. However,in the update notes on that patch, they explained a few balance changes that led to the land decision, including speeding up progression since the grind was rough on the more casual players, and changing the land rule. Bumping up land ownership meant that players will also be able to produce more and get more experience from land owned, further improving progression for those that found it too grindy.

In the latest update over on the Ravendawn Discord, we get other reasons for this too. They wanted to be sure that open world land didn’t empty out eventually. You can only own one piece of open world land, and large land plots are “unlimited”. So, most would probably choose their one open world plot to be large, leaving small and medium plots with the potential to become empty down the line. One thing that the land expansion, which was key to future content as well, inadvertently did was lead to an oversupply of materials in the market, thus impacting the economy. We can expect some balance changes to help address the oversupply issue.

There are two separate updates we can look forward to. The first will add more mining locations, introduce fishing bait, with the goal of increasing the value of fish caught, griefing protection for lower level players in Culling spawns, andsome quality of life tweaks like a hotkey manager and pre-set build support. There will also be an aggro system revamp.

  • Later, there will be that big PvP patch, after some more development and significant QA time. This mini expansion update will usher in Ravendawn’s first public test realm. Expect these features in the
