Rabbids, Assassin’s Creed and more could be coming to XDefiant

Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter, XDefiant, could be set to receive content based on Assassin’s Creed, The Crew and Rabbids.

That’s according to content datamined from the game by X user Rogue TX (via Kotaku), who has been sharing alleged files from the game online.

According to the user, four factions coming to the shooter could include Assassins from Assassin’s Creed, Operators from Ghost Recon Breakpoint, GSG9 members from Rainbow Six Siege and The Highwaymen from Far Cry: New Dawn.

Perhaps more surprising are indications that factions based on the driving game The Crew and colourful platformer Rabbids could eventually come to the shooter.

The datamined files also suggest that team deathmatch, capture the flag, and infection are new game modes planned for XDefiant, as well as weapons such as a sawed-off shotgun, Tommy Gun, FAMAS, turret, RC car, FAL, and G36 rifle.

XDefiant is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

XDefiant will have a new season every three months, with Year 1’s four seasons each adding one more faction, three new weapons and three new maps. Each season will also have a 90-tier battle pass.

In VGC’s XDefiant review, we wrote: “This has the raw ingredients of an excellent first-person shooter, even if it’s a bit rough and ready at launch. More factions and more game modes are all it really needs to remain a permanent fixture in our gaming rotation, and the stranger it gets with it, the better. When can I play as a ship from Skull and Bones?”
