Quidditch Champions Makes One Essential Change To Golden Snitch Rules

is finally adapting the beloved titular sport for a modern audience, the first Quidditch-focused game since on the Gamecube. Players around the world will be able to take to the skies on their brooms as Beaters, Keepers, Seekers, and Chasers. However, while the rules of Quidditch have been kept mostly intact for, there have been a few alterations.

Quidditch Champions released on September 3, 2024 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

Perhapsthe biggest change in is a tweak to how the Golden Snitch works. While players will still be able to zoom about on their brooms as their favorite wizards and witches from the universe or as their own customized character, they may be surprised to find it isn't quite how they remember it from the books and films. However, the change is definitely for the better, as it helps make competitive play a lot easier.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions has a keen focus on multiplayer and character customization, so it seems like a game ripe for microtransactions.

While in the books and films, catching the Golden Snitch rewards the team with 150 points and ends the game there and then, in it's far less impressive. Instead of 150 points, players will only get 30 points for catching the Snitch, and it also won't end the game. Instead, the match will resume, with the end goal being to either have the most points or be the first team to reach 100.

It's a big change, one that will likely upset some fans as it is so different from the books. However, the change exists for a good reason, as catching the Golden Snitch in the universe versus catching it in the game is very different. Unlike the Seekers in the books and films, who must chase after an almost imperceptible flying ball that's traveling at great speeds, those incan see and catch the Snitch far easier.
