Popular Star Wars Game Is Finally Getting A PC Release

One of the most popular and ever-lasting games is finally making the jump to PC and it's bringing with it plenty of improvements to its presentation. While it may not have the iconic reputation of Bioware's or the cinematic flair of Respawn's, that doesn't mean the mobile game isn't worth a look. The enduringly successful mobile game, which has been running for close to a decade at this point, has managed to foster a dedicated community of its own and it's about to grow even bigger.

Per an announcement on ' blog, the turn-based strategy RPG starring ' roster of iconic characters is coming to PC in the near future and it'll boast some major improvements. Developer EA Capital Games has confirmed thatthe PC port will run at 60fps, double that of the mobile version. Additionally, the team has developed mouse and keyboard controls to ensure that game is just as easy to play without some kind of touch screen. Veterans can also link their accounts to ensure they can seamlessly play on PC or mobile without losing any progress.

The move to bring the game to PC makes sense given that the platform is constantly expanding its user base and keeping free to play will ensure that even more players give the game a try especially since it can be quite demanding on mobile devices. EA has confirmed that intends to update both versions of the game in lockstep so all patches will be deployed at the same time to ensure neither platform is unfairly prioritized. Dedicated fans eager to see the suped-up version of the game can now register to test out the beta build.

Releasing in 2015, was launched to tie into the hype surrounding, the first major film entry in the franchise in over a decade. Despite some teething problems with its free-to-play model that allows players to purchase powerful characters with real money, the RPG has managed to smooth out the experience. The game is now widely regarded as one of the most friendly free-to-play mobile experiences available on iOS and Android.
