Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Pick The Paldea Region's Most Forgettable Pokemon

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet brought a lot of new Pokemon into the franchise, but players are now debating which ones are the most forgettable. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have introduced 114 new monsters to the Pokedex, including the ones in the base game and monsters added through DLC, but they weren't all created equal in players' minds.

Releasing in November 2022, the pair of games taking place in the Paldea Region are not the most well-received among Pokemon players, earning Pokemon Scarlet and Violet middling reviews from critics and mostly negative fan reviews on Metacritic. Still, the pair of games took the series in a new direction as the first mainline Pokemon game to take place in a fully open-world setting, which has set it apart from games in the previous eight generations. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also gave players a lot more options for building their teams, offering up more new Pokemon than any game since Generation 5.

At the top of a lot of players' lists of most forgettable Paldea Region Pokemon is Brambleghast (and, presumably, Bramblin, its unevolved form), the Grass/Ghost-type Tumbleweed Pokemon. While some players discussing the topic on Reddit noted that Brambleghast saw some competitive use in the game's early days, its absence on any notable trainers' teams along with it being all but forgotten in the DLC released for the pair of games didn't make for a memorable experience for some players. Adding to this, Brambleghast hardly looks like a Pokemon, and some players have criticized its move pool, as it can only learn 15 moves without the use of TMs, maxing out with Power Whip at level 55.

Even with all of its lack of action in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet compared to some more popular Pokemon, Brambleghast does seem to have its defenders. Some players praised its Wind Rider ability, which lets Brambleghast avoid all damage from wind moves, most of which comes from damage types that would normally be super effective against a Grass-type Pokemon.
